01

Eat a protein filled breakfast:

Start your morning with a breakfast rich in protein to help your body resettle its blood sugars. This is especially great if you are prone to brain fog and find it hard to make decisions after a busy weekend.

02

Reset Your Eating Pattern:

Mondays are usually jam-packed with to-do lists the length of your arm, that it can be easy to forget to eat! Skipping meals or eating everything late in the evening can be a major contributors to your bloat. Make sure you are eating something every 3-4 hours as it will help your body get ready for the week ahead and reduce bloating from these stressed eating patterns.

03

Hydrate:

This one is so important, especially if you had a few drinks over the weekend. A lack of fluid can be a huge trigger for bloating and upset digestive symptoms. Every single cell in our bodies need to be hydrated to work at its best. Try our electrolyte drink (attached below) if your weekend has left you feeling dehydrated and sluggish.

Move:

We generally let loose on weekends and eat foods which can be challenging on your gut as they are harder to break down. Doing something active, whether that be yoga, walking, cycling or whatever you enjoy can be a fantastic way to rev up your body and get things moving for your gut again.

Get Outdoors:

Vitamin D and nature both have a powerful impact on your immune system of which 70% resides in your gut. 70%!! So if possible, give yourself the opportunity to spend time outdoors and your digestion will thank you.

Sleep Well:

Put your phone and laptop away and have a "me-time" night.

This will help shift any excess cortisol from your body which may be affecting your gut.

Light a candle, run a bath, embrace a book and allow the nervous system to settle so your body can do what it does best at night...

Rest and digest ❤️

Natural Electrolyte Balancer

Ingredient:

Directions:

  • 500ml Coconut Water
  • 1 small/medium orange peeled
  • 1/4 tsp rock salt/sea salt
  • Juice of 1/2 a lemon/lime
  • Some Ice (optional)

Blend all the ingredients together (except lemon/Lime) - Ice can be blended or added in after.

Mix to combine, add the squeeze of citrus

Hydration is not simply drinking water. it is replacing electrolytes that the body loses through sweating. Electrolytes like sodium, chloride, potassium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, and bicarbonate. These carry electrical charges in your body, which allows your cells to communicate, including brain cells. Electrolytes play a role in fluid balance, which affects circulation which ultimately effects every organ in the body.
